Sunday after noon we were
sitting down to dinner
the clock said five we
were alive the house
was quiet in glimmer
of evening tide
The boy spoke up and
said aside his mother
made me shimmer
says I to him sometimes
my son your mother
can be bother
It happened then right in
the space the house
began to shimmer
the beams of weight
that held the roof
fell into sway above us
Holy God in heaven
Mother please forgive us
If these beams sway
another inch we are in bother
The house was big the earth
much bigger
