Murder in our house

The mouse was not dead
silly bugger caught in a
trap that I set for him
he struggled all day
and all night to live
I had to drown him
even after I threw
the trap and him
in the water he
was swimming
trap and all

so I held him under
and he is dead
with his eyes
open looking at me
oh God who have I
murdered
