Dolours Price

Born on the longest day of the year  blue lunar storm
enlightened balanced fire equality own power doubled
Irish warrior women carrying her own  black armilite
I cannot decide but think you lived and died freedom

Murdered for the part you played in their game the
ancient game of war the reverse of peace is raw
war is raw and you were as raw as the slice in a
cut tomato who killed you Dolours Price who ?

We were the same age in Belfast the same age but
miles apart in upbringing or maybe not your dad
told you his stories and my dad told me his stories
but they were never our stories as we have to write

Drugged more than that force fed by diabolical
not worth living human beings who rammed
a piece of hose into your mouth and we have no
idea no idea at all what you endured at their hands

Dolours beautiful so beautiful like a flower you
lived and you rattled the windows of their cage
in  the city within a city of evil doers and sinners
they killed the queen of hearts and now you too

Not to worry death means nothing it is not the end
only the beginning of the next life path after a rest
in twenty five years you will come again to be you
sweet enduring light of heaven go be at peace again
