Music

When all the world gets too weary with the story of pain
Then I seek out the song and rhythm of my own Ireland
Planxty I drink every note and my soul is dancing round
I thank you for the time you took to learn each note and
oh the power of your togetherness in the strings played
Little Musgrave  the music dances around the death
How can I write this poem where you can feel the whistle
ah no you have to tune in utube and christy moore for my
miserable wee flow of words just does not do it anyway
I pound these words as the tune is being played thru
my ears now is'nt the computer a great invention all
together with ear phones on up loud not not to wake
the sweet dreaming husband I can soar across the divide
I can look thru the time and celebration of the great Irish
nation and the war they nevr backed down from a war
they fought and will fight till the next seven generations
get to dance

Lyrics to Follow Me Up To Carlow :
Lift Mac Cahir Og your face, broodin' o'er the old disgrace
That black Fitzwilliam stormed your place & drove you to the fern
Gray said victory was sure, soon the firebrand he'd secure
Until he met at Glenmalure with Fiach McHugh O'Byrne

Chorus

Curse and swear, Lord Kildare, Fiach will do what Fiach will dare
Now Fitzwilliam, have a care, fallen is your star low
Up with halberd, out with sword, on we go for, by the Lord
Fiach McHugh has given the word "Follow me up to Carlow"

See the swords at Glen Imaal, flashin' o'er the english pale
See all the children of the Gael, beneath O'Byrne's banner
Rooster of a fighting stock, would you let a Saxon cock
Crow out upon an Irish Rock, fly up and teach him manners

Chorus

From Tassagart to Clonmore, flows a stream of Saxon gore
How great is Rory Og O'Moore at sending loons to Hades
White is sick, Gray is fled, now for black Fitzwilliam's head
We'll send it over, dripping red, to Liza and her ladies
