Ode to Native America

Land  rivers mountains and streams of people
Dakota Lakota  Nakota  environment sacred
Drum  buffalo breath breathe in me your fire
I live with all the lies that live here in this time

Go to the head of that sacred river to connect
The difference between what is real and
what is not
Bathe in the river  listen to your own heart beat

We used to live in tipi  we lived with moon beams
Life was simple then before white man came and
Fucked it all up with his double edge sword and his
Forked tongue ways he lost his connection to land

He forgot the old ways the gentle ways of yesterday
Live in nature live in the earth and on the earth and
give back in your thanks every day for life for love

Great Spirit Wanka Tanka help me to remember me
In this fog of micro waved synthetic fabric clothes
Help me find my way back to a simple path of joy
Help me to help my fellow human beings suffering
Help me find my sacred song again to sing to all

Beloved holy sacred earth river mountain stream wind
All the natural world help me become pure of heart
Help me become sound of mind and soul pureness
Help me become the glory of your sun and moon
Help us all become the children of the light again

Take away all that stops us from being the one note
