A short poem written in 1980 when I arrived

Oh Canada

Oh Canada

Can I Da ( Irish for father)

Will I be alone in your greatness
Like every other damn immigrant

Ontario winters nearly did me in
Froze my bones to the very core

Je vois la piscine pour les enfants
Swimming in a new charter of rights

Canada I am living in the winter
of your discontentment

Canada we will grow
together.
